Mumbai is the largest city in India and the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Along with the neighbouring regions of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, it is the second most populous metropolitan area in India, with a population of 21.3 million as of 2016. Mumbai is also the commercial, financial and entertainment capital of India. It has city houses like Reserve bank of India, Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange and numerous Indian companies and multinational cooperations. Mumbai's nature as the most eclectic and cosmopolitan Indian city is symbolized in the presence of Bollywood within the city, the centre of the globally-influential Hindi film and TV industries.



Climate
Mumbai has three main seasons - Summer, Monsoon, and Winter. The best time to visit is during the winter between November and February. Humidity is also less during the winter, when the climate is pleasant; the minimum temperature is 17 degrees centigrade and the maximum is 30-31 degreescentigade. Summer is from March to May with highs in the low to mid 30s. It is hot and humid during this time. June to September is the monsoon season when the city is lashed by heavy rains. Climate is humid pretty much throughout the year because the city rests on the coast.

Mumbai's culture is a blend of traditional festivals, food, music, and theatres. The city offers a cosmopolitan and diverse lifestyle with a variety of food, entertainment, and night life, available in a form and abundance comparable to that in other world capitals. Mumbai's history as a major trading centre has led to a diverse range of cultures, religions, and cuisines coexisting in the city.
There are so many religious places around in the city (both old and new) that one can plan a day long itinerary on that. You can start with Banganga Temple, Mahalkshmi Temple, Siddhi Vinayak, Afghan Church, Haji Ali and it goes on and on.
If you would come to Mumbai you would have to experience Bollywood. Plan a trip to Film City located in Goregaon and enjoy the firsthand experience of Bollywood shooting.
Cricket has a national game stature in India and Mumbaikars revere that every day of the year. Youcould visit grounds like Azad Maidan near C.S.T. Railway station and Shivaji Park in Dadar west are some of the best places to witness the cricket fever for free.
Walk along Marine Drive, also known as Queen's Necklace. This beachside promenade is worth a ride. A walk can be planned from GirgaonChowpati (Girgaon beach) all the way upto Nariman Point.
Mumbai has a vibrant theatre scene with plays in many languages including English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi. While South Mumbai has frequent performances, the best organized theatre effort is at Prithvi Theatre, Juhu in the Western Suburbs.
The night life is definitely one thing to experience in Mumbai. You can go Pub Hopping as there are variety of pubs in the city which allow you to have an enthralling pub hopping opportunity.
You could set up to walk through Dharavi, one of Asia's largest slums and the heart of small-scale industry in Mumbai.
